| Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #111 September 10, 2007
 Quilting Friends,
Have you heard of YouTube? It’s a website with thousands of short movies on all kinds of things, from dancing babies to political speeches. I like watching snippets of Billy Joel in concert once in a while. But that’s just me. Why am I telling you this? Its quilt related…really! Here are two great ones to get you started. Just click on the link: Sharon Schamber teaches how to make your own basting glue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfpRZHnRs54 “I Dream of Houses” is a little gallery of house blocks set to beautiful music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7XaLKx77rk If you are a guild president or program chair, I urge you to read the post about sharing national teachers. What a great way to save money and get some great talent into your guild! I also want to apologize for my email addresses not working. I asked that you send submissions to submit@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com and subscriptions to Subscribe@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com. However I didn’t realize the addresses weren’t working, what with traveling and all. We've figured out the problem, fixed it, and we're in business, baby! (And here I thought no one was reading this newsletter!)
You may remember that I’ve listed a couple of longarm machines for sale in the past. Well, they were sold so quickly from those listings, that I’ve decided to include a regular Classified Section in this newsletter. If you have something sewing or quilt related to sell, consider an advertisement in this newsletter. There are over 1000 interested readers in Florida and beyond. The charge is $50 for your ad, which will include two listings (two consecutive newsletters) for a single ad. Please send your ad to ad@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com, and look for a reply from me with instructions for sending the payment.
As always, if you have email changes, let me know:subscribe@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SHARE NATIONAL TEACHERS
The Gulfcoast Quilt Educators group (GQE) is holding it's Fall meeting on
Saturday, October 20 from 10 am to 1 pm in Sarasota. Education/program chairs,
presidents and in-house teachers representing guilds throughout west and
central Florida meet for the purpose of sharing information on workshop
offerings and other education/program related news. The sharing of workshop
schedules gives area guilds the chance to "share" national teachers and gives
the teacher the opportunity to teach at multiple guilds in one trip. This
helps save the guilds part of the transportation/airline costs.
If your guild is located within 2 hours driving distance of Sarasota, and you
are interested in "sharing" national teachers and information on your
education programs with other guilds in your area, you are invited to attend.
  Please RSVP to Becky Baird

cbeba@earthlink.net for additional information and to obtain driving
directions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUILT SHOW IN ST. PETERSBURG
