Yep, I've jumped on the Terific Tuffet bandwagon and made TWO. And now I'm teaching a class...join me! There are a few seats left.
Well, here we go…are you ready? Our annual Quilt Show Season is upon us, starting with Mancuso’s show in Orlando next weekend. I hope to see you there! And if you’re just a little too far to travel to that, I’m sure you’ll find a quilt show a little closer on the Calendar page. Tis the season.
If you are looking to enter a quilt or wearable art in the competition for the Mid-Atlantic show, the deadline is January 26. Entry forms are here.

QUILT SHOW IN FT. MYERS
The SW Florida Quilter's Guild show is happening!! Come join us Friday, January 8th from 10am - 5pm and Saturday, January 9th from 10 am to 4pm 2016. We have moved back to the Lee County Civic Center at 11831 Bayshore Road, North Ft Myers, FL 33917. There will be over 300 judged quilts, 2 special exhibits, a guild challenge with over 40 12" quilts, a beautiful raffle quilt, a silent auction, a boutique filled with handmade items, magazines, books, and fabrics and 40 vendors! BIBLE STUDY QUILT IN WEST MELBOURNE
The Heart and Soul Quilting Circle, of Melbourne Community Church, will be starting the "Women of the Bible study quilt", on January 12th at 6:30PM (church location is at the corner of Wickham and New Haven (3030 New Haven) in West Melbourne.
There are 42 women in the bible. There is a block for each woman. When we finish the study, each person will have a king size quilt top.
The Heart and Soul Quilting Circle meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
Bring your sewing machine and 3 fat quarters of coordinating colors. Instructions for the “Eve” block will be provided on the first night.

APPLIQUE LECTURE & WORKSHOP IN WEST PASCO COUNTY
West Pasco Quilters' Guild will be hosting Connie Sue Haidle from Apple Blossom Quilts at their January 21st meeting at 10AM at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center. QUILT SHOW IN PORT ST. LUCIE
The members of the Port Saint Lucie Crazy Quilters Guild are excited to welcome fellow quilters and lovers of fabric to our 9th Biennial Quilt Show – “Quilting in Paradise.” We will be hosting it Thursday, February 4th through Saturday, February 6th, 2016 with our hours being from 10am to 6pm with closing on Saturday at 4pm. We have a wonderful convention center – the Port Saint Lucie Civic Center at 9221 SE Civic Center Place (corner of Walton Road and US 1) to welcome you to the experience of quilts, vendor booths, Guild Boutique with handmade items, daily auction from 1 to 2 pm daily, fabulous member challenge and more.
To honor the American Heart Association “Go Red For Women” Month and its efforts to make women aware of their hearts, wear red on Friday, February 5th, 2016 and be entered into a Quilting Gift Basket valued at over $1,000.00. The winner will be chosen at the end of the day. In addition the members have all made blocks for the three Heart Quilts that will be auctioned, one each day. Three of our fine Quilters in the name of Karen Marchetti (Creative Long Arm Quilting), Marion McCoin and Natalie Carlton. The total proceeds will be given to the AHA Go Red for Women. There are more surprises at the Heart area so do stop by and see the quilts. This is the first time we have dedicated the show to a national charity.

In her lecture, “The Pitfalls of Perfection,” Nancy Kern will present her masterpiece and prize winning quilt, the culmination of a lifetime of stitching, “Mary Simon Rediscovered.” Nancy's interpretation of the 1850's Baltimore Album Quilt top has won several awards including one of the most prestigious in the world, The Founder's Award at the Houston International Quilt Show in 2010.
In her lecture, Mary will walk us through some of the steps of problem solving the construction of this complex applique quilt. She encountered many challenges during the decade long construction, including historic fabric color issues. She will also share her decision to design and add a border to this famous quilt top.
