from the kitchen of Mary-Jeanine Ibarguen


2 sticks butter
3/4 c sugar
2 eggs + 1 yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract

 

2 1/2 c of flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp baking powder
zest of 1 lemon
2 tbsp orange flavor liquor (optional)

1 can Guava paste
1/4 c red wine or water

Instructions: 
Dissolve the guava paste with the wine over low heat, set aside
Beat the eggs with the butter and the sugar 

Add the rest of the ingredients and beat slightly. 

Put 3/4 of dough in a cake mold (I used a spring form pan) add the guava leaving 1 inch border. 

Add the rest of the dough to form lattice.
Bake at 350 for 35 min.
